When to Post on LinkedIn in 2024: Best Days and Times

Appearing in France in 2008, LinkedIn, which is the number one social network for professionals, now claims more than a billion members worldwide. In France, there will be nearly 30 million of us with an account on the platform in 2024. But faced with this mass of users, how can you stand out? Knowing when to publish on LinkedIn allows you to put all the chances on your side to gain visibility.

LinkedIn, a constantly growing social network

LinkedIn is a social network that is growing without ever seeming to run out of steam. It is now essential for anyone wishing to assert their professional presence online and establish their credibility. At the start of 2024, France had more than 29 million members on the platform, ranking 5th worldwide. Above all, in just two years, LinkedIn has seen its number of members increase by 20%, proving its success in France. In the eyes of community managers, it is even the 2nd most important social network in the ecosystem on which to publish, according to our 2023 CM survey.

In the summer of 2023, LinkedIn made changes to its algorithm, aimed at prioritizing relevant content, that is, content that brings “knowledge and advice” and help “members to feel more productive and efficient“. By following the guidelines of the platform, it is therefore possible to see your content more easily highlighted on the social network and, therefore, offered to a greater number of users. However, while it remains particularly important, the quality of the content is not everything. Knowing what timing is best to post is also an important advantage, which should not be underestimated.

When to post on LinkedIn to increase your visibility?

Several studies and analysts are looking into the question of the best time to publish a post on LinkedIn. Metricool, which specializes in social media analysis and management, tried to answer this question in a study published in the first quarter of 2024. 41,000 company pages and more than 1.5 million posts were identified for this purpose. Unsurprisingly, it is during the week that it is best to publish on LinkedIn. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – in that order – are the days when the number of impressions was the highest for the posts studied. Mondays and Tuesdays are not far behind, even if the second part of the week seems more profitable. Forget, however, about weekend posts: they will fall by the wayside!

But at what time to post? Still according to Metricool, it is at 10 a.m. that we notice, “globally and time zone independent”a spike in activity on LinkedIn, which represents the niche “the most favorable and frequent to publish”. For his part, Yumens digital strategy agency advises to favor Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to publish on LinkedIn, in the morning, on the lunch break or at the end of the afternoon. To gain visibility on your posts, it is therefore preferable to choose the working days of the week, in particular Wednesdays and Thursdays, and to publish rather in the morning or at the end of the morning!
